TTS-Story Is Getting Faster, Stronger, and More Reliable in Pinokio

Over the past several updates, I’ve been working through community reports and taking a closer look at how TTS-Story installs, updates, and runs through Pinokio.

Faster and Smarter Updates

Previously, even a small change could trigger most of the original setup process again—sometimes recreating the Python environment and reinstalling dependencies unnecessarily.

TTS-Story can now recognize a healthy installation and apply ordinary code or documentation updates much faster. A full repair option remains available when dependencies genuinely need to be rebuilt.

Additional Improvements

I’ve also made several structural improvements behind the scenes, including:

• Better handling of Pinokio-managed Python environments
• More reliable dependency selection for Windows, Linux, macOS, and Apple Silicon
• Improved installation checks and recovery behavior
• Cleaner startup and web interface launching
• Better processing feedback, library management, and project metadata handling
• General reliability and performance improvements throughout the application

Platform Testing

I’ve successfully tested the updated Pinokio installation on Windows. The macOS and Linux improvements are also in place, and community testing on those platforms is especially appreciated.

Please note: The first update after these changes may still take a little longer while the existing installation is reconciled. After that, routine updates should be considerably quicker.
