1. Close everything using the project

Close:

Pinokio
VS Code
Any terminal running in that folder
Any Node.js processes

Then open Task Manager and end any node.exe processes.

2. Delete node_modules manually

Open Command Prompt as Administrator:

BAT
cd C:\pinokio\api\gods-eye-view.git
rmdir /s /q node_modules
del package-lock.json

Then:

BAT
npm install
3. Run as Administrator

Open Command Prompt or PowerShell as Administrator and run:

BAT
npm install
4. Clear npm cache
BAT
npm cache clean --force
npm install
5. Temporarily disable antivirus

Windows Defender or third-party antivirus software sometimes locks files during npm operations.

Temporarily disable real-time scanning, run:

BAT
npm install

then re-enable protection.

6. Check for long path issues

If the path is very long, Windows can fail during install.

Enable long paths:

Run gpedit.msc
Navigate to:
Computer Configuration
→ Administrative Templates
→ System
→ Filesystem

Enable Win32 long paths
7. Reboot

If Windows has a stale file lock, a reboot often clears it.
You’re all caught up.
