So after receiving help from the lovely cocktailpeanut (pinokio auto launch issue) I have now perfected my remote launching of pinokio. I thought id share my method using my pc on windows running pinokio and every thing needed. If your like me and use your main pc that's not always on to run pinokio you need a method to turn on your pc remotely. Over lan this is fairly easy using phone apps. But remotely it needs more setting up and an always on device. I run a 24/7 server at my house so here's how I do it. First in windows add pinokio shortcut to the windows startup folder (win+r then type "shell:startup") restart pc to make sure pinokio auto launches and runs as should. Set up the new Pinokio Anywhere in the app(in beta, works really well) or just have Tailscale app installed on windows and make sure home server(caddy) is setup in pinokio (new pinokio ajywhere is excellent and way more convenient) Make sure your motherboard bios and windows are set to allow wake on lan and in windows turn on "magic packets" for your lan adapter (pc must be connected via lan cable for magic packets to be received) Now you need an external device on the same network and that can at least run simple Docker containers Tailscale and Upstart. Setting up both is easy and Tailscale has an excellent little guide for this. tailscale.com/blog/wake-on-lan-… Once your set up all you need to do is connect to your upstart container via the Tailscale address and power your pc from the Ui. Wait a few minutes let pinokio load and start the services needed. You should then be good to connect via the pinokio Tailscale address (found in the home server ui in the app will usuallystart with 100.xxx.xxx.xxx) or via the new Pinokio anywhere connect page on this website (again still in beta). Im happy to help with any setup if needed. I really hope someone found this useful
