We've all been in that support group. 4.17 is the release that gets you out of it. We used Phosphene the way you do, on small and big Macs, and wrote down every place it lied, lost your work or made you hunt. There were 222 of them. How to get it: press Update in Pinokio, then restart Phosphene. Nothing new to download.
Honest times. Estimates are now ranges for YOUR Mac, built from about 97,000 real renders (hover a chip: "based on 29 renders on Macs like yours"), and they correct themselves from your own finished renders. Price shows before you press Generate, and the progress card counts the time left for every window still to come.
Lip-sync is a Video mode now. One still of Bizarro plus a power ballad we wrote in Phosphene's own Music Studio. Shot 1 is the new Lip-sync chip. Shot 2 is "Continue the song": it picks up exactly where the first clip's song stops, anchored on a closed-mouth frame, so you can build a whole music video one clip at a time. Every lip-sync clip also gets a sync verdict, and a 3 s Draft checks the mouth before you commit.
Faces survive. That's a phone photo stored sideways, the way iPhones save them. Phosphene now reads the rotation, keeps a portrait photo portrait (Image to video, Hailuo H3 and Lip-sync pick the shape from your photo), and a crop preview lets you drag the framing so the face isn't cut off. HEIC works too.
Retake a moment. Great take, one bad second? Pick the stretch (here 2.8 to 5.6 s), describe what should happen instead, and only that stretch is re-rendered. The rest of the clip stays exactly as it was.

- Match colour across a whole film in the Editor, plus per-clip exposure, temperature and tint.
- Stop asks before throwing away a long render and can stop after this window, so finished work is kept. Clear queue and Hide clip have Undo.
