  • YUE2 // GROOVEYUE2 // GROOVE is the latest music studio built on the open-source Yue2 model and its inference stack. Generate high-quality full songs from style and lyrics with an editable score plan — powered by the latest YuE model — cover from audio with SheetSage2 and MERT2, refine and compare edits, and keep your works in a reusable, easy-to-manage library. You get high-quality creation with real creative control. Hardware: an NVIDIA GPU with 24 GB VRAM on Linux (YuE2's recommended setup, validated end-to-end on NVIDIA L4 hosts; a 16 GB memory budget runs everything the app can produce, and 12 GB runs the unquantized model at CFG 1.0 or for shorter songs) or an Apple Silicon Mac with 32 GB+ unified memory (where this app is developed and tested). Windows is best effort: install, launch, Cover and a full-length song verified on Windows 11 (RTX 2070, 8 GB); song generation there runs through the GGUF engine. Cards under 16 GB (and Windows) get the optional GGUF engine: the same model through yue2.cpp with an 8-bit backbone, 8.2 GB peak for a full song, measured indistinguishable from the reference rendering in a blind ABX, a different take for the same seed; the reference PyTorch configuration stays the default wherever it fits.

YUE2 // GROOVE 1.0.11 — Windows Cover detection fixes

A small update to improve Cover setup and troubleshooting on Windows: Fixed AUTO-DETECT incorrectly reporting that the Cover environment was missing. Improved environment checks and error messages for audio-library loading problems. Added audio-library checks during installation and updates. New installations on Linux/Windows PCs without NVIDIA GPUs now use the smaller CPU packages for Cover. To update: stop the app in Pinokio, click Update, then Start. No Reset is needed. The app footer should show 1.0.11. If you still see a torchaudio error, please share the full error output or a screenshot

1.0.10 — validated audio, checkpoint and score-renderer updates

This release updates the validated audio, checkpoint and score-rendering dependencies while keeping the model runtime and UI on tested versions. SoundFile 0.14.0 fixes concurrent file-open behavior; safetensors 0.8.0 updates checkpoint handling; abcjs 6.7.1 updates score rendering. Ruff is now 0.17.1 for development checks. Gradio is fixed at 6.17.3 to keep the tested UI / Hub combination. Installations using a later Gradio return to 6.17.3. The companion Pinokio installer now respects the app requirement when repairing Gradio assets. macOS retains Torch 2.14.1; Linux/CUDA retains 2.10.0. YuE2

YUE2 // GROOVE 1.0.8 released ! — Cover works again on new installs, and the Library player takes a colour

A fix for Cover and a small visual touch for the Library player. Updating once gets you both. Thanks to @pdxcomposer for reporting the Cover bug. Cover works again on new installs What was broken If you installed YUE2 // GROOVE on or after September 22, every Cover transcription failed within 10–20 seconds with an error like: Transcription failed: SheetsageFailed: SheetSage2 transcription failed (exit 2): FileNotFoundError: ... transformers_modules\SheetSage2\chord_spelling_sheetsage2.py The task you picked, your operating system and your graphics card made no difference. Nothing was wrong wit

YUE2 // GROOVE 1.0.2 — low-VRAM cards and Windows now supported (GGUF engine)

YUE2 // GROOVE 1.0.2 released — GGUF engine: full songs on 8–16 GB cards, and on Windows Until now Groove needed a 16 GB NVIDIA card (or a 32 GB Mac) for a full-length song, and song generation on Windows did not really work. 1.0.x adds a second engine that changes both. What's new A second engine for smaller cards. The same YuE2 model in a compact 8-bit form (GGUF), made on your machine from the same weights you already downloaded. A full-length song peaks at about 8 GB of graphics memory instead of 11; an 8 GB card gets songs up to ~5 minutes. The composing stage is 2–6× faster. Chosen for y

Less than 24 GB of VRAM? — Quick Reference

Less than 24 GB of VRAM — quick reference The requirement stays: an NVIDIA GPU with 24 GB (YuE2's validated setup) or an Apple Silicon Mac with 32 GB+. This page is for people running on smaller cards anyway. Linux numbers are measured (LINUX_CUDA.md); Windows numbers are estimates (§4). 1. Your card GPU Works? What you get What to set 24 GB+ (RTX 3090, 4090, 5090, …) Yes Everything Nothing 16 GB (RTX 4060 Ti 16G, 4070 Ti Super, 4080, 5060 Ti 16G, 5070 Ti, 5080, …) Yes Everything, including the longest song the app can make (6 min) at any CFG Nothing 12 GB (RTX 3060 12G, 4070, 4070 Super, 4070

YUE2 // GROOVE 0.9.0 — phone & iPad layout fixed, Library play button fixed

If you installed YUE2 // GROOVE from Pinokio, open it and click Update, then Start. The page footer shows GROOVE 0.9.0 once you're on the new version. What's new: Phones and iPads — the page now uses the whole screen. Before, about a third of a phone's width was empty margin and there was a blank band under the title; on an iPad in landscape, tabs 05–07 were hidden behind a "⋯" menu. 04 LIBRARY — the play button works again after you pause a work and pick another one (it used to do nothing every second time). Under the hood the app was reorganised and cleaned up, with new checks on every chang

Why YUE2 // GROOVE keeps YuE2's reference configuration — and what "16 GB" really means

Two questions come up under every YuE2 launcher: "why does this need so much VRAM?" and "why not run a quantized model?" Here is what we measured, and the reasoning behind Groove's choices. Nothing below is aimed at any other project. Several teams are doing real engineering to fit YuE2 onto small GPUs, and they are solving a different problem. Part 1 — what a full-length song actually needs Upstream's stated requirement is an NVIDIA GPU with BF16 support and 24 GB VRAM, generating without quantization. Upstream's own model card also publishes measured peaks: about 11.0–11.2 GiB for a normal f

YUE2 // GROOVE LAUNCHED !

Why it exists YUE2 // GROOVE is a local music studio for producers, songwriters, and creators who want serious AI-assisted writing without living in the terminal. It sits on today’s open music stack: Yue2 — generation model + inference for full-song audio SheetSage2 + MERT2 — turn recordings into editable musical structure The goal is simple: keep creation on your machine, and give you a studio that feels like making music — not configuring software. What you can do Start from the SONG view: one place for the work in progress, the score, playback, and the next move. New track — describe style
